Envelope for an embellished card

How to pack an embellished card? 

The best way is to create a sturdy envelope, which would protect your artwork. I use an A4 size cardstock of any matching color which I cut and fold according the pattern I have created from old cereal box. You can do your own "stencil" from any A4 cardstock, as well. Maybe it seems too much counting, but it's really easy, just follow my picture below. Once you do your pattern, you can make as many envelopes as you need without long measuring and calculating. My envelope is great for cards of 10,5 x 14,5 cm or smaller. Embellishments should not exceed 1 cm of height.

Easter Bunnies

I was strongly inspired by beautiful, professional card of Kittie Caracciolo and immediately I wanted to make my own. Those bunnies were so cute, I couldn't wait to do it. I decided for red and white combination with brown imitation of the fence. I made the basket from white textured wall paper. Then I added 3 little roses and leaves into the bottom corner and some little tiny flowers on the necks of bunnies. In the grass are hidden 3 white little Easter eggs :-) Would you find them?

I have a great collection of images from various coloring books for kids, old greeting cards, magazines, advertisements or story books. Many of them I drew or restored by myself. I'd love to put them together one day, but till then I'll just share couple of them with you.

Easter Eggs

Glasspainted Eggs 

For this Easter card I used a glasspainting technique. First I painted eggs with brown window color on a transparent foil (e.g. 3M Transparency Film for HP Ink Jet Printers), then I glued them on a scrap piece of textured wall paper and cut out. As the background paper I used Geographics Design paper (Daisies), which I stamped and drew with grass and branch motives.

Happy Easter

I would call this card "10 minutes card". It was really easy to do, and fast. For coloring I used my "old fashioned" watercolors. In the left corner, there you can see my homemade pearls I used for embellishment (see how you can do them here), for writing I used pen and pink ink - no printing to add a personal touch to the card.

How to make the pearls?

Do you need pearls and don't have them on hand? You can do it by yourself. All what you need is a glitter glue a transparent foil.

Make small dots on the foil and let dry for couple of hours. 

Then just peel of your "pearls" and you can use it for embellishment of your craft.

Bird Song

I used brush pens for coloring the bird and chalks for musical background. The white glittery paper is actually a scrap piece of wall paper I found in my stock. The yellow flowers were done by myself - no special punches, just knife, cutting board, brown fine liner, glue and little bit of patience.

Easter Bunny

I drew this little bunny with permanent ink on watercolor paper and then colored with my classical water-colors. Then I trimmed the picture with decorative scissors and made dots with a piercing tool. I decorated a card with three stripes of wooden beads of matching colors to add an accent.

Red Poppy

Since longer time I have had colored this lovely stamp, but had no idea how to make a card of it. Then I made an outline by hand and started to play around with red paper. By chance I got a piece of scrap paper with stamped part of a flower. That was an idea! Immediately I took my red ink and stamped each corner of the background paper with flower image - that is my background paper you see on the picture. The rest was just easily done.
