Welcome

Hi! My name is Kika. Welcome to my page full of handmade greeting cards. I love crafting of all kinds - from scrapbooking, painting, to any kind of needlework (visit my other blogs, too - right sidebar).
Cardmaking is a special form of crafting - whether we're wishing someone well, inviting them to a party, saying thank you or just celebrate a holiday, there's plenty of occasions in life where a handmade card says it all. However, it might happen that new ideas can be hard to come by. That's where I'd like to help. Just make a coffee, sit down and look to my page for some ideas, inspiration or step-by-step tutorials. Enjoy the time!

Tu by som chcela pomôcť. Urobte si kávičku, pohodlne sa usaďte a pozrite si moje stránky, nájdite nové nápady, inšpirácie alebo krok za krokom návody. Nech sa páči.

Roses

Hi! I have a friend, who recently turned 40 and I wanted to make a nice gift for her. I bought a present which was nicely packed in that beautiful gift box with a big bow and I wanted to make a card which would fit to that style. I found a perfect paper from Docrafts, which I embellished with roses from Hunkydory decoupage set and my own leaves, Nr. 40 and oval frame are from Marianne Design.
There is a folder inside the card for a gift certificate and a page with greetings. Butterfly is a die - free gift from March issue 167 of Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine.

Tulips

So, this card was a  challenge to create! With a rubber stamp, that would be easy. But I wanted to enter FTHS sketch challenge Nr. 167, thus I had to use the digi image... I've chosen the image of "Spring Medley" from FTHS, which I cut and modified in photo editor "PicMonkey" following Calypso's great tutorial from 2015. Then I combined two inverse images and colored the flowers with pink watercolor. For embellishment I used the butterfly dies - a free gift from March 2017 Issue of Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine. The pink background triangle I embossed with flower embossing folder from one of last year's Issue of the same magazine. The pattern paper with small tulips is from Crelando.

Happy Easter

I created this lovely Easter card because of the latest Stella Says Sketch challenge Nr. 506. I used the Bugaboo image which I colored with watercolors and brush and for background I used the paper from Crelando. Since I want to enter another challenge at Catch the Bug, I used the recipe from March Bingo challenge: very right column - Bugaboo image / Flower / Stripes. The pattern on background paper is in stripes and the  flower is in the lower corner of the image.

Cloverleaf for Good luck!

Hello! Welcome back to my page! I have just few minutes to catch the latest FTHS sketch challenge, so no long words about the card. Just to say, it is a Birthday card, I used the Free Stamp of the Month at FTHS image which I colored with watercolors and brush, and the layout from the latest FTHS sketch Nr. 166 (see below). Background paper is from Crelando. Different size of leaves is instead of 3 ribbons.

From my heart

Hello! After a busy week I was able to settle down a bit and even make a new card. For this one I used a super cute image of mouse from FTHS which I colored with watercolor pencils and markers. I used the layout from the latest FTHS sketch challenge Nr. 165 which I want to enter. The sentiment is in the image ;-)

Red Cardinal

Hi! FTHS is running a wonderful sketch challenge this week and I picked the older image of red cardinal which I'd printed months ago and haven't used until now. I made an experiment with grey-dark red combination and I think it looks great (to be honest, I found an inspiration on Christmas Card challenge blog).
I colored the image with professional watercolors and smudged the edges with red and black chalks. I cut the frames with Nellie's frame dies and poinsettias with Mariane Designs cutting die set. For the background I used the designer paper from Docrafts. I embellished the card with red glass gems.

Little Birds

Little Birds, 13,5 x 10,5 cm

Hello! Yesterday I've seen a very nice color-combo challenge on the blog "Shopping our Stash". I didn't have to think twice, I immediately knew that this cute image from FTHS will be perfect for pink - yellow - green combination. I colored the image with real watercolors (my favorite technique) and cut out with Marianne Designs cutting dies. For the background I used the glittery floral paper from Crelando. I embellished the card with flowers (Xcut) and satin ribbon. The layout is from Sketch Saturday challenge Nr. 452.
My card can be used for Birthday, Mother's Day, Easter greetings, Valentine or as a Thank you card.

Hi! Today I made a new card with this cute image from Bugaboo stamps. I was inspired by the latest challenge on Catch the Bug challenge blog - "Time for a Photo Inspiration" (February 2017).

For the layout I found the inspiration on Try Stamping on Tuesday blog - Nr. 311. I want to enter that challenge as well.

I WON - TOP3 @ Catch the Bug !!!

Kitties in Love

Here is the folded card with small kittens in love. I used Docrafts decoupage paper sheet and layered cats on the heart. I embellished the card with handmade flowers and satin ribbon. I embossed the pink panels with Xcut embossing folder.

Christmas Tags

Hi! Christmas is over, but I still have couple of projects unpublished. Here I want to show you how easily you can use your scraps from other projects. I got a leftover stripe of recy-paper, which I cut in equal parts and folded half. Then I searched a bit in my box with clear stamps and found 3 perfectly matching winter images. I stamped them and colored with watercolors. Just the snowman is colored with acrylic - to be visibly white. Then I made a hole in the corner with punches and bound with white bakers twine.
