Hi! My name is Kika. Welcome to my page full of handmade greeting cards. I love crafting of all kinds - from scrapbooking, painting, to any kind of needlework (visit my other blogs, too - right sidebar).
Cardmaking is a special form of crafting - whether we're wishing someone well, inviting them to a party, saying thank you or just celebrate a holiday, there's plenty of occasions in life where a handmade card says it all. However, it might happen that new ideas can be hard to come by. That's where I'd like to help. Just make a coffee, sit down and look to my page for some ideas, inspiration or step-by-step tutorials. Enjoy the time!

Tu by som chcela pomôcť. Urobte si kávičku, pohodlne sa usaďte a pozrite si moje stránky, nájdite nové nápady, inšpirácie alebo krok za krokom návody. Nech sa páči.

Sleeping Beauty

I urgently needed a baby card for a newborn boy. I created couple of them, but still I couldn't stop searching internet. Then I found a great inspiration on http://agnieszka-scrappassion.blogspot.sk site. But, such beautiful stamps are hard to find in a short time. Therefore I simply used my pen and brown ink and drew the main motive on the card. From the  torn paper I made the roses (see tutorial here) and for leaves I used my leaf punch.

With this card I entered the challenges:

Best wishes

Red roses

I stamped tulip on a piece of white card-stock. Then I used toothbrush to sprinkled the bottom part of paper with thinned water-color. The rest of image I colored with a thin brush and water-colors. As a background I used the red dotted paper. The ribbon is made of paper and stitched with red thread.

Bamboo Trees

I loved this kind of motive when I saw it around. Since I don´t have such nice stamp, I used my pen and drawing ink and created my own "stamp". The circle in the middle of drawing should evoke a feeling of sunset ;-)

I used a combination of two basic papers - white and blue. Trimming I made by scalloped scissors and whole punch. For flowers I used my daisy punch. I stamped centers of white flowers with rubber on the other side of pencil and blue water color.

Happy Valentine

This card was really fun to do. The squares I stamped with red water color and small plastic box from old ink pad. The ornament I stamped with a rubber stamp and small hearts I punched and glued. Then I cut out about 1 cm smaller card-stock than basic creamy paper and glued from the bottom. With my embossing tool I embossed the border along the bottom paper to add some dimension. Finally I attached the ready motive to the red body of the card.

Happy Easter

Challenges I entered:
Bearly-Mine - Nr. 77, Easter (entry 4), till 18/03/2013

Christmas Tree

Everything on this card is truly handmade. There is no stamping. The tree shape ornament is drawn by fine liner and embellished with gems. Also the small embossed squares were done by the old fashioned technique with embossing plates and stylus. But I love the final result.

Challenges I entered:
CHNC - Challenge extra for March (entry 45), till 31/03/2013

Easter Chicks

I painted these three little chickens on a piece of white card-stock. Since I did not have a rubber stamp, I used pen and drawing ink. Then I colored them with watercolors and let dry. Once dried I cut them out with knife and arranged on my yellow greeting card base. For the grass I used a piece of green mulberry paper. With my shape cutter I made yellow and orange flowers and one 3-D flower from 5 pieces of orange daisies.

Christmas Card

I've made the snowflakes with my shape cutter and glued on the white cardboard in regular distances. Then I created that little penguin from black, white and orange card-stock. I just loved the motif, I had seen it on internet and wanted to make one. So I created my own stencils and cut it out.

Blue Flowers

For border of this simple card I used my embossing stencil with flowers motive. Then I drew by hand magnolia branch on piece of white cardstock with brown ink (because I did not have such stamp on hand) and colored with watercolors and pencils. I'm going to use the card for Mother's day, or so.

Paper flowers

Would you like to make such flower, but you don't have fancy punches and other stuff? Good news is here! You don't need it. All you need is piece of paper (any color works), scissors, 2 mm thick foam sheet (or any soft mat, e.g. cork, linens), other side of brush or any thin stick, embossing tool (or the old, non-writing ball pen) and glue.
Start to tear your paper and smoothly create shapes of circle. You will need 6 of them, 3 small and 3 slightly bigger, about 2,5 cm in diameter (about 1 inch).

Then, with your scissors make short cut in all directions to create leaves.

Every circle has to be scrunched around the tip of the thin stick or other side of brush.

Start to unwrap your petals and with embossing tool shape the petals, one out, the second inside of the flower.

Glue every layer of petals in the middle with a small drop of glue.

The last petal let unwrapped and glue it in the middle.
Your flower is done! Just wait for glue to dry.

You can use it for any paper craft - cards, scrapbooking, ...
