Welcome

Hi! My name is Kika. Welcome to my page full of handmade greeting cards. I love crafting of all kinds - from scrapbooking, painting, to any kind of needlework (visit my other blogs, too - right sidebar).
Cardmaking is a special form of crafting - whether we're wishing someone well, inviting them to a party, saying thank you or just celebrate a holiday, there's plenty of occasions in life where a handmade card says it all. However, it might happen that new ideas can be hard to come by. That's where I'd like to help. Just make a coffee, sit down and look to my page for some ideas, inspiration or step-by-step tutorials. Enjoy the time!

Tu by som chcela pomôcť. Urobte si kávičku, pohodlne sa usaďte a pozrite si moje stránky, nájdite nové nápady, inšpirácie alebo krok za krokom návody. Nech sa páči.

Flower Basket

Hi! Today I created a Birthday card, for which I used an image of basket full of flowers (from FTHS). I colored the image with professional watercolors. I've found an inspiration in the sketch challenge Nr. 132 at FTHS. I love purple color and I thought this polka dot paper might go well with the flower basket. The sentiment saying Happy Birthday is stamped on slice of parchment paper. The circle and the background papers are stitched along the border on sewing machine. For the white flowers in the corner I used the dies from Lea'bilities and  Sizzix. At the end I added couple of purple glass gems.
Another challenge I want to enter is the Birthday challenge from December blog hop at FTHS... I hope you'd like it.

Owls in Winterland

Hi! Do you like owls? I couldn't resist these little creatures on the image from Faith. I used it for the sketch challenge Nr. 131 on FTHS blog (see below). If you look for sketch - rotate it right and instead of flag I used the big snowflake with a blue glass gem which is also the twist :-)
As the card blank I used the blue pre-cut card with a window opening. I tacked the image from inside the card and embellished with various snowflakes (Marianne Design, Xcut). With a white gel pen I did false stitching around the opening. I colored the image with my favorite artistic watercolors.
Simple, but cute, I think :-)

And, btw, if you ask me about those cute little blue owls as a decoration - these were done by my 11 yrs old son from wool by dry felting in his art classes. Don't ask me more, because I really don't know exactly, how. But I love them!!!

Gift Stack Teddy Bear

Hi! Christmas is closer and closer and my pile of X-mass cards is growing. But I never know whether I'll be able to send them out on time :-) This time I created a card for Challenge with Free stamp of the Month on FTHS. I combined two designer papers from Docrafts and colored the image with artistic watercolors in the same colors as the background. I cut out and embossed the frame of the image with Marianne Design die. I added the fussy cut leaves and satin ribbon. In the right down corner I placed 3 red gems.

Christmas Gift Box

This is a special Christmas Gift Box. Maybe it's not obvious from the picture, but this is a gift box for book. I created it from the thick cardstock, which I embellished in line with my design I used for my previous works - card, gift boxes, tags.

Christmas Card Remake

Hi! I'd like to share a christmas card I created lately.
I was looking for something in my stash box and I randomly found an old card I made about 2-3 years ago, when I started with card making. Simple design, I liked this card and was proud of it, but maybe you know that, I made a mistake and glued it on the wrong side of a card :-/ - it opened left. No way to send it to someone, but I didn't want to disassemble it at that time either. Now I got an idea! I cut it half and used the new card blank for it - the blue one. I added white stars with glitter in the centre and a white snowflake on the tree, some more white color on the border and a simple 3-color card is here :-)

Green Tree

This card is available in my e-shop
Táto pohľadnica je dostupná v mojom e-shope

For this simple Christmas card I used only two kinds of cardstock - green and white, embossing folder and die cuts. Oh, and a bit of stamping ink :-)

Na túto jednoduchú vianočnú pohľadnicu som použila len dva druhy papiera - zelený a biely, embosovaciu kapsu a vyrezávačky. Oh, a ešte aj trochu pečiatkovej farby.

Challenges:

Material and supplies:
cardstock - green, white (Crelando)
embossing folder - swirls (efco)
cutting dies - tree and sentiment (Marianne Designs)
mini corner punch (ek success)
stamping ink - green (Tchibo)
BigShot machine, paper cutter, craft knife, cutting board, glue

Size: 10,5 x 15 cm

X-mass mail

Hello! I'm getting busy this time before Christmas, but finally I found a while to create this card for the latest FTHS challenge Nr.130. I chose the image Winter post from FTHS and combined it with designer paper from Docrafts (actually it was a free gift from the last years magazine :-)). I like frosty blue on Christmas decorations, therefore I tried it and combined with the contrast red. I colored the image in the same tones with artistic watercolors. Both layers are stitched around with white thread on the sewing machine. The final touch I got by satin red ribbon and bow - another magazine gift leftover :-).

Swinging Snowman in Blue

Hi! Christmas is such a wonderful time of the year, isn't it? Exactly that I wanted to say with this loveliest snowman of all. This is my second card with this guy from Faith and this time I made him blue cap, scarf and shoes - the same blue as matting paper. For coloring I used the artistic watercolors. Around the image I went with faux stitch in grey. To embellish the card according to sketch at FTHS challenge Nr. 129 (see below) I used the polka dot baby blue ribbon. The sentiment is stamped with Papermania set "Home for Christmas".

Purple Heart

Hi, this is my latest stitched card with a beautiful heart motif in zentangle style. I used a thin sewing thread for the heart stitching and alike papers in the background and for flower.

Red Christmas

Here is the second experiment with pergamano, still without professional tools, just freehand drawing, an old sharp pen and needle. I just can't resist to try. Here I used my hole punch to create lace like holes.

Blue Christmas Card

Blue Christmas, 10 x 12 cm

Hi all, this is my very first experiment with pergamano technique. I'm just on the beginning, but I decided to try and try and to create beautiful paper laces :-) So, let me see, what's coming next...
For this card I used parchment paper, for embossing I used what I found at home - old ceramic pen (sharp enough to make thin lines), embossing tool I use for scrapbooking, needle and small scissors. Here I decided to get myself some better tool to create nice, crispy edges... it's on the way. From the wrong side I colored the image with water based markers and brush, the white areas I embossed with bigger embossing tool. To attach the parchment to the background I used transparent double-sided tape, but next time I'll try special Pergamano transparent liquid glue.

Cowboy Christmas

Hi, I'd like to share another card with a cute snowman from FTHS. I was inspired by the sketch from FTHS challenge Nr. 127. I colored the image with color markers and watercolor pencils. For the flowers I used the die set from Marianne design and for frame the die from Nellie's multi frame's serie. The base of the card is red - to complement the color of flowers and snowman.

Birdbrain Christmas

Hi! Today I made this card using the free stamp of the month November from FTHS. I used the same image 3 times in row and created this cute birdie family. For the branch I used my punches and glitter glues.
