Welcome

Hi! My name is Kika. Welcome to my page full of handmade greeting cards. I love crafting of all kinds - from scrapbooking, painting, to any kind of needlework (visit my other blogs, too - right sidebar).
Cardmaking is a special form of crafting - whether we're wishing someone well, inviting them to a party, saying thank you or just celebrate a holiday, there's plenty of occasions in life where a handmade card says it all. However, it might happen that new ideas can be hard to come by. That's where I'd like to help. Just make a coffee, sit down and look to my page for some ideas, inspiration or step-by-step tutorials. Enjoy the time!

Tu by som chcela pomôcť. Urobte si kávičku, pohodlne sa usaďte a pozrite si moje stránky, nájdite nové nápady, inšpirácie alebo krok za krokom návody. Nech sa páči.

Vintage Christmas Card

Hi, today I finally finished this card which I made for FTHS sketch challenge Nr. 124. I had a busy week and almost no time to do something creative... but I did it :-)
I used the print out of an old vintage image which I sew in two lines on the red matting paper. I combined it with beautiful digi stamp of red cardinal from FTHS. I colored it with watercolors and cut out. I used the embossed green paper for the background. The card is embellished with red glass gems and white branches. Those I covered with glitter glue (sorry, not visible very well on the photo).

Merry Christmas

Today I played a bit with digi scrapbooking and made a Christmas card with FTHS image. I added the slovak version of Merry Christmas sentiment ;-). I used the sketch from FTHS challenge Nr. 123 as an inspiration. Besides this digi image, which can be easily printed out on printer and used as a flat greeting, I'm going to make a classic card for the mentioned challenge...

OK, here is the classic paper card I've just finished. I colored the image with watercolors and stitched the papers on the sewing machine with different types of stitch (zig-zag and straight). I matted the image with a piece of white gauze. I embellished the card with stipe of corrugated paper, baker's twine and snowflakes.

Halloween boxes

Halloween box, 12 x 12 x 3 cm

Hi, I was asked to make a box for cookies, but the one for Halloween. The cookies name is "Witch's Fingers", so I did this box. And you know what? I was immediately asked for four of them :-)

Unfortunately, I don't own any die with Halloween theme (we don't celebrate it anyhow), so I had to cut out these cute creatures by myself. First I made a stencil and then I transferred the motive up-side down with white pencil on the black paper and cut out with craft knife. The spider net is stitched with thin machine thread and the spider is also handmade from the small punched balloon and a circle. The legs are just drawn with black pen. I like how it turned out.

Material and supplies:
cardstock - recy, black, orange (Crelando)
punches - star, balloon, circle
other - black ink, marker, machine thread black, needle, craft knife, cutting board, foam dots, glue, double-sided adhesive tape, paper cutter, score board, embossing tool

Happy Birthday

Hi, I made this card today for FTHS challenge Nr.121 with the actual "Free Stamp of the Month" from FTHS. Since we don't celebrate Thanksgiving here, I decided to use the image for birthday and I combined it with autumn pattern papers. I colored the image with watercolors and faux stitched the border (actually, I punched the holes around with the thread-less sewing machine and then used the orange marker to draw the stitches :-) - I like how it turned out).
