Welcome

Hi! My name is Kika. Welcome to my page full of handmade greeting cards. I love crafting of all kinds - from scrapbooking, painting, to any kind of needlework (visit my other blogs, too - right sidebar).
Cardmaking is a special form of crafting - whether we're wishing someone well, inviting them to a party, saying thank you or just celebrate a holiday, there's plenty of occasions in life where a handmade card says it all. However, it might happen that new ideas can be hard to come by. That's where I'd like to help. Just make a coffee, sit down and look to my page for some ideas, inspiration or step-by-step tutorials. Enjoy the time!

Tu by som chcela pomôcť. Urobte si kávičku, pohodlne sa usaďte a pozrite si moje stránky, nájdite nové nápady, inšpirácie alebo krok za krokom návody. Nech sa páči.

Magical Christmas

Hi! Here is my 3rd card from "Silver Christmas" collection. I've used the layout from sketch Nr. 372 at Sketch Saturday. The image and sentiment is from Hunkydory set. I made the background by dry embossing and red, purple chalks. The leaves are done from green and silver cardstocks with Marianne Design dies.

Challenges:
Sketch Saturday - Nr. 436

Christmas Gifts

There are many gifts under the Christmas tree,
but the best one is the gift of LOVE.

This is a Christmas card from my "Silver Christmas" collection, and its beautiful sentiment inside.
For the layout I used the sketch Nr. 281 from Sketch Saturday
The image and background papers are from Hunkydory, the silver gifts from Crelando Christmas Card pack and the sentiment says: "Merry Christmas". I used the die from Marianne Design for it.

Challenges:

Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells ...

Hi! Today I'm here with a Christmas card from my newest festive collection called "Silver Christmas". At this one I was inspired by sketch Nr. 278 from Sketch Saturday (see below).

Instead of image I created the bells by using beautiful Christmas die set from Marianne Designs. The background is embossed white cardstock, the frame and pattern papers are from Hunkydory.

Happy Birthday

This card I finished some weeks ago, I just couldn't find time to post it here. I used one of my newest beautiful border die together with Happy Birthday sentiment. For the background I used a pink rose designer paper from Crelando and bow I made with die from Christmas set from Marianne Design.

Wedding box

Here is a box to accommodate my latest wedding card. It's a simple box from recy cardstock embellished the same way as card with lace and twine.

Wedding Card in retro style

After a while which I spent by painting I'm back with a new wedding card. The title says: "Neverending Love" - that is what my customer wanted. I used the X-cut die to create letters and I glued them on recy cardstock. I embellished the card with flowers, lace, hearts and twine - all in one color tone. I'm pleased with the result, very elegant.

 Material:
paper - 300 gsm recy and cream cardstock, 180 gsm cream cardstock (for matting, and inside card)
embellishments - flowers, lace, twine
dies - ABC, hearts, plant
others - double sided tape, foam squares for hearts, liquid glue, ...

Baby Boy

This is the last card today . baby in blue. I made it for Stella Says Sketch challenge at Bugaboo store blog.
Here is the sketch:

I WON - TOP1 :-)

Snowgirl

Hi! I've made this simple Christmas card for the latest FTHS sketch challenge Nr. 159. I just wanted to do something original with the sketch and I got an idea of using twine instead of paper stripes. Then I rounded it around my base card and got a sketched direction of stripes :-) The natural twine fits so nicely with the natural or recy-style card blank that I kept it simple. I added an image colored in coordinating tones of baby blue, natural and white. I embossed the white background with a very detailed Victorian pattern.

Graduation Card - PC Boy

Hi! Here I've got a lovely Graduation card I created for the latest Marianne's Design Divas challenge Nr. 7.
Well, 3 products from Marianne Designs are a must for the challenge, therefore I used as many products as possible: the background paper and the digi stamp are from free downloads on mariannedesign blog, and I embellished the image with feather and ink die cuts and ink line stamp. I smudged the feather with black chalk for more realistic look, as well as the tip of feather. I stitched the card on sewing machine all around the borders. All together makes a perfect Graduation card.

Wedding giftbox

Hello! I'd like to share my latest creations. I was quite busy last days, because I promised to do about 10 cards for my customers and girls around. Mostly for weddings and new babies :-) Besides that I got an idea about upcycling a matchbox to something more valuable. And I created a new small box of a matchbox size which I embellished with 2 swans. It can be used either as a wedding gift for guests, gift for Valentine or an original box for wedding rings ...
I want to enter the challenges:
a challenge 261 at SOS: "Create your own matchbox / matchbook."
Allsorts - Nr. 373: Anything but a card

I WON - TOP1 @ SOS ;-)

Birthday Rose

Hallo! I would like to share a Birthday card I created just today. I was inspired by my bedding I've got as a wedding gift from my grandmother, 15 years ago. Even though she is not here anymore, I feel her when I see this bedding in my room. I even painted the walls with purple color to fit them :-) - I love the color anyhow.
Once, when I was pregnant and relaxing in the afternoon, I just took a pencil and drew the roses I saw on my bedding. Then I created my own digi image and used already couple of times for my card designs. When I found the latest challenge on Shopping Our Stash blog with the theme: "Get inspired by your bedding", I just smiled and swiftly made a new card with my image :-))) Thanks, that challenge was for me!

I made TOP3 at Shopping Our Stash :-)

Here is a card I created in past:

Christmas Card

Hi! Last week I created couple of Christmas cards for the challenge running at Catch the Bug blog. Well, why not? I'm pretty sure, I'll have no time to do it before Christmas :-) I printed out some more images than I used, so I made another Christmas card for the next "BINGO" challenge at Catch the Bug. The recipe:

I used the second line: Die cut (frames, BoBunny) - Flower (poinsettia, Marianne Designs) - Star (in the image, Bugaboo stamps store). I like the result since it perfectly fits with the red - white background paper from Crelando (my old stash).
