Hi! My name is Kika. Welcome to my page full of handmade greeting cards. I love crafting of all kinds - from scrapbooking, painting, to any kind of needlework (visit my other blogs, too - right sidebar).
Cardmaking is a special form of crafting - whether we're wishing someone well, inviting them to a party, saying thank you or just celebrate a holiday, there's plenty of occasions in life where a handmade card says it all. However, it might happen that new ideas can be hard to come by. That's where I'd like to help. Just make a coffee, sit down and look to my page for some ideas, inspiration or step-by-step tutorials. Enjoy the time!

Tu by som chcela pomôcť. Urobte si kávičku, pohodlne sa usaďte a pozrite si moje stránky, nájdite nové nápady, inšpirácie alebo krok za krokom návody. Nech sa páči.

Little chicken

Spring is surely to come, so I started to make my Easter collection. This lovely chicken is hand-stitched with colored machine embroidery thread. I made the eye with a small black bead. For the background I used red-white polka dot paper.

Material and supplies:
papers - card blank white, red-white polka dot paper, pink marble paper
threads - white, yellow, red, green
black bead
other - double sided self-adhesive tape, regular tape, scissors, sewing machine, pergamano piercing tools - single needle and double needle, piercing foam, paper cutter

Easter Basket

Hi, how are you? I'd like to share my latest Easter card I created by string art technique. I used beautiful metallic thread to stitch the pierced pattern which I hand-sketched before. I embellished it with little red stones.

Soft Tulips

Hi, I hope you all had a nice Saturday! It took me a while until I made the card for the last FTHS challenge Nr. 136, especially because I wasn't sure which image to choose. I wanted to make a Valentine card, but then I found this beautiful background paper and immediately I saw the bunch of tulips on that! Then I had a card done in few minutes :-) and I like the soft, spring mood of it. What do you think?

Happy Mail

Hi, today I had a busy day creating cards (not only) and preparing photo tutorial for one creative magazine. This card I made for challenge Nr. 135 at FTHS, where I used the sketch and also the twist (Add some nature). I used the image with flowers and birds. Valentine is coming, so I felt this image will be right for this time of the year. I colored it with professional watercolors. For the background I used designer papers from Docrafts and I embellished the card with small red hearts. No fancy dies or embossing folders today :-)

Cute Kittens

Hello! I hope you had a nice day. We've got plenty of snow here, so we spent a day skiing out in the mountains with kids :-) Now I found a while to create this card for the latest FTHS sketch challenge Nr. 134. Since I used this cute free image from FTHS, I'd like to enter also the Free Stamp of the Month January Challenge.

About the card: I used the black card blank, so I matted the image with black paper as well. I embossed the background white paper with Houndstooth pattern (from ProvoCraft) and I colored the image with watercolor pencils to match colors of washi tape I used for embellishment - black, grey, orange and teal. The final touch I added with bakers twine. The size of the card is app. 10,5 x 14,5 cm.

This card can be used for Birthday or Valentine occasion.

Mixed Bouquet

Hi! We've got a snowy day here today - finally we can ski :-) I'd like to share a birthday card I made for FTHS challenge Nr. 133. I was thinking how to combine the sketch challenge with a twist and I came to this solution. Black-red-white are my favorites, so I pulled a black-print designer paper (Docrafts) and the only image I could imagine was this beautiful Mixed Bouquet from FTHS. Did you realize it? I just cut off the vase and added some more flowers to the bottom part... sorry, Faith ;-) I made one card with colored flowers - again in the tones of the card and the second without coloring. That one I like more :-) What do you think?

Happy New Year to all of you! Thank you for stopping here, in my small creative world.
Today I want to share this simple, elegant card for expecting mothers. I created it by spirelli technique. I used a special metallic thread for stitching and 3 shiny flowers for embellishment. I wanted to get an elegant card, so I decided for simple red-white combination. Size of the card is 13,5 x 13,5 cm and you can get it in my e-shop.
