Welcome

Hi! My name is Kika. Welcome to my page full of handmade greeting cards. I love crafting of all kinds - from scrapbooking, painting, to any kind of needlework (visit my other blogs, too - right sidebar).
Cardmaking is a special form of crafting - whether we're wishing someone well, inviting them to a party, saying thank you or just celebrate a holiday, there's plenty of occasions in life where a handmade card says it all. However, it might happen that new ideas can be hard to come by. That's where I'd like to help. Just make a coffee, sit down and look to my page for some ideas, inspiration or step-by-step tutorials. Enjoy the time!

Tu by som chcela pomôcť. Urobte si kávičku, pohodlne sa usaďte a pozrite si moje stránky, nájdite nové nápady, inšpirácie alebo krok za krokom návody. Nech sa páči.

Easter Bunny

Good evening! Another week, another sketch challenge at FTHS (Nr. 140). I like their images and sketches, therefore I play those challenges so often. Easter is coming so I used the image of this cute Easter Bunny and colored it with professional watercolors. For the background I used the embossing folder with butterfly pattern and added a green butterfly atop (mini-die, Xcut). The green pattern paper is from the latest Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine (Issue 154, March 2016). Size of the card is 13,5 x 13,5 cm.

Birdbrain Graduates

Hi! There is a great challenge running at FTHS (Nr. 139) in which I would like to take part. This time I've chosen the Birdbrain in the role of Graduate :-) I rotated the sketch and used just black and white combination with a pinch of orange, do you find it? The black background paper is embossed with sentiments like Bravo, Congratulations, Well done, etc.  (embossing folder by Darice, Congrats Collage) - I think perfect for the theme. Also the Chick is colored in black 'n' white scheme with my favourite professional watercolors. The edges of the image are smudged with black ink and false stitched all around. For the stripes I used washi tapes (Crelando).

Another challenge I want to enter is the challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz, Nr. 108 - Birds of a Feather

Easter Egg

Hi! I hope you had a nice week. It's rainy today here in Slovakia, but little bit higher in mountains there is snowing! I can even see it from the window :-)
Yesterday I made a new Easter themed card with the part of image from Faith. I'd like to use it for the latest FTHS sketch challenge Nr. 138. This time I used a combination of pink-orange, which actually seemed little bit strange to me and I would never choose if I hadn't used the butterfly pattern paper. But at the end I was really safisfied with the result. I feels so light and fresh... I hope you'll like it too.

Easter Everywhere

 Easter Everywhere
Rabbits soft and cuddly
Baby chickens, too.
Easter eggs for baskets
White and pink and blue.
Easter cards of greeting,
Music in the air,
Lilies just to tell us
It's Easter everywhere.

Easter Eggs

Easter Eggs!

Easter eggs! Easter eggs!
Hidden all away;
Let's go find our Easter eggs,
On this Easter Day.

Easter eggs! Easter eggs!
Don't you hide from me!
Look here, Sis, I found an egg,
Underneath the tree.

Easter eggs! Easter eggs!
What a pretty sight!
Blue and pink and yellow, too,
Purple, green and white.

Easter Bunny

Hi, this is my Easter card with little stitched bunny and a flower. I added few small butterflies and decorative corners.

Birthday Flowers

Hi, I'd like to share a birthday card I created for my good friend last week. I made this card from scratch, including flowers. I used couple of dies and punches and some flitters.

Material and supplies:
papers - card blank white 13,5 x 13,5 cm, red polka dot pattern paper, white, green, cream cardstocks
dies - layered flowers (Marianne Designs), leaves and branches (Sizzix), sentiment (Impression Obsession), small flower punch (Crelando)
other - flitters (gold, green), flower stems white

Blue Roses

This Birthday card is a result of simple stamping and coloring with proffessional watercolors. I used color matching matt and added some glass gems on top.

Valentine with Cocoa Snowman

Hi, hope you all are doing well. It's Saturday and a time for another card. Even though we spent last night dancing on the ball and I'm terribly sleepy today, I did it. This time I made a Valentine card with this lovely Snowman from Faith Skrdla (FTHS) and I used it for two challenges - the sketch challenge Nr. 137 and February Free Stamp of the Month challenge on FTHS. For the background I used the brown rosy pattern paper from DCWV. The diagonal stripe is dry embossed with butterfly motiv (Die Sire). For the big heart I used the wonderful dies from Nellie's Frames and the small heart is done with the punch from Crelando. And finally, the weeds are done with the die from Sizzix.
